The common position in society is; how a woman deals with an unwanted pregnancy is a choice to be made by her alone. Many argue that abortion is exclusively a woman’s issue; women is to be treated as an autonomous decision-maker. But it takes two to create life, the father feels responsible as he is emotionally, psychologically and practically, deeply engaged and his opinion should matter in the decision of abortion. Progressive relationships are based on the idea of a partnership, where major life decisions between couples are made via a process of mutually supportive dialogue. Considering this, are we really accounting for the interests of all parties involved in the decision about abortion?
