Imagine a world where in all the diseases have been eradicated, where people don’t suffer from physical ailments. The question that arises then is, at what cost have we created this world?

With the advent of gene editing and genetic modification, we have entered a new age of science. Designer babies enable us to pick and select the kind of genes that we want a baby to ‘inherit’. The original idea behind this was to help parents to create an embryo which would have a less chance of being diseased. Are we going too far if we start selecting physical traits such as fair skin, blue eyes and so on? As stated by many, are designer babies an ethical horror waiting to happen?
