Common gender stereotypes exist in multiple aspects of our life: In early years, people always say girls should play with dolls and boys should play with trucks. In teenagerhood, it is said that girls are better at reading and boys are better at math. Did you notice such kinds of gender stereotypes before? And do you think they are justified or purely prejudiced? Take one example, it is believed that girls are less interested in STEM while there are actually less female students/researchers compared to male students/researchers in STEM areas. Would you agree that those stereotypes actually influence people’s personality, occupation and life choice? Or would you argue that those so called stereotypes are observations of the real world?
