Discussion topic: What is the Individual’s Responsibility towards Society?

In western cultures a large focus is put on the individual; children are told to follow their dreams and make life decisions based on their personal aspirations, there are countless guides on how to become the best version of yourself and people put great effort into standing out since it is considered desirable to be unique. With this heavy focus on the individual, the individual’s responsibility towards society is becoming less and less clear. Should we consider the impact of our job on society when choosing a career path or simply pick the profession we consider most interesting?  To what extent should we be obliged to use our skills to improve the quality of other people’s lives? Is volunteering a good way to make up for social injustice? How does our role in/ contribution towards society affect our own happiness and satisfaction in life? Join us for a VOX discussion to address these questions on Tuesday September 29th at 19:00

We look forward to seeing you at our first discussion and many more to follow!
